The Release of Timmy the Turtle

One day our friends came to us asking us if we knew where to put this baby turtle they found in a swimming pool. Being the animal people we are we decided to take on this project until it got a little bigger.

We made a little home in the back yard in a 50 gal. buckett. We came up with the name Timmy(???).Timmy would go and sun bathe on the rock we had put on the bottom. HeLoved it!

After about 2-3 months we decieded that Timmy had gotten to big for this little home and he was eating alot more... It was time to let him go. I was excited because every turtle would love to live in a pond instaid of a buckett.

When we let Timmy go it took a few seconds for him to realize he was free but after the realization, timmy took off! Swimming all over the place from one side of the pond to the next.

We waited for about an hour before we left and the whole time Timmy was swimming everywhere. The frogs that lived there before kept coming up to see who lived there now. I guess they were checking the safety.

Now Timmy is in his own free pond and has frogs to worry about.I guess the water wasn't too clean but I know turtles don't care about that.

Why I Love The Camel...

About 10 years ago my family
decided for Christmas we were going to experience a live nativity.
At the exit they had a hudge live camel everyone could pet.
I was amazed!
They are so big! They usually weigh 1000-1350 lbs and stand 8ft tall !
The hair is probably about 4-5 in long but so corse you can't even tell .

The Camel is known for it's ability to go long distances without food or water carry heavy burdens...

The Charicter Training institute used the camel as a perfect example of ENDURANCE.

Camels have several features that help them endure strength.
In the midst of blinding sand storms: the thick hair on it's ears keep out the sand; long curly eyelashes trap the sand and a third eyelid protect it's eyes, while still enableling him to find his way;he has special muscels to keep it's nostils closed and free from sand.

How cute is that! People are tring so hard to figure out how animals are like humans and they never get to apreciate the purpose and reason God made them.
It is amazing how God makes such a hudge animal know what they can endure without being told.

Camels carry up to 1000 pounds of cargo, but each camel quickly learns how much it is able to bear over extended miles of burning desert. If a handler attemps to add too much weight to the camel's burden, it will refuse to budge until the load is either reduced or repacked.

What an amazing animal!
You have to admit seeing all the special things about them
makes you love camels more.

I just thought this picture was funny!

Grinds for my Garden

At Starbucks we give our coffee grinds to anyone who asks so they can mix it in the dirt for their garden. Every year it makes me want to start a garden. Yes, it is very hard work!

My wonderful husband was so excited for my new "project". He worked so hard to get the garden going for me. Here are the starting pictures; Texas has very hard clay. The mixture of all the dirt looks so neat.

Being in Texas it takes a lot more to keep a garden going. The heat alone is against you. I only got a few plants to go into my garden in case it didn't work out.

I planted 2 tomato plants, a lavender plant, oregano and a rosemary bush. Well, one tomato plant is barely hanging on... but the other is a goner.
My rosemary bush, and my oregano is taking off. Everyone should have a rosemary bush it makes you feel like you are a good gardener.
I have a wild Mornig Glory plant that makes me feel so happy. Every year it comes back and this plant also makes me feel like I am a good gardener, but God gave me this plant. I don't believe it would look so good if I planted it.

This is the doggie that always gets left out ! Yes we have 4 dogs. She is the mediator. The one that runs through to make sure everyone is playing and not fighting. ; )

The Green House

This is a picture of my currant family, but one is left. The only way I could get them to sit still is to hold a cookie and say sit.
